Volunteer with us

From time to time, L&S Mind recruit volunteers to assist on our Information Service.

You will need to be reliable and have a basic understanding and experience of using computers, although you will receive training and be guided through the process by patient and considerate people who appreciate your time.

The Volunteer roles we normally have available are:

1) Directory Researcher

You will be required to check all services in the borough for people with mental health issues that are stored on our Website’s Directory.  This is to make sure that the details on our system are up to date, accurate and relevant. Primarily, you’ll be issued a listing of services to check by visiting their website. Then telephoning the organisation directly to ask for any known changes and documenting them where necessary.

Training given: Procedures following, working with our Pegasus database.

  • You need to have good verbal and written/typing communication skills.


2) Directory Updater

You will be required to directly update our website, which will involve adding and amending all services stored within it.

Training given: Updating our website’s ‘Directory’ and working with our Pegasus database.

  • You need to have reasonable typing skills.
  • We look for some past computer experience and understanding of data entry.
